I loved the strong, interesting characters. I wanted to enter into their journey and experience the love and trauma. Sammy's imagination is remarkable. The twists and turns kept me totally off balance. The book had to have taken an unimaginable amount of research. Sammy is obviously a dedicated and talented writer!
Sounded interesting but turned out to be more of a romance novel than anything else. If you want to read things such as this
"With kisses he took away her fear, and with his love in every caress, he vowed always to be there for her." this book is for you, If you are looking for an archaeological thriller, keep looking.
Sammy has written a densely packed, action-filled story based on a compelling archeological quest and mystery. The main characters, archeologists themselves, are interesting and their relationship is complex and super-charged with sexual tension. A great fictional outing from a passionate, well-informed writer! Readers will look forward to vol 2 in the series.
From the title and summary I thought I was getting a book about an adventure and a mystery with a little bit of romance. What I got was a romance story with very little adventure and mystery. It would not have been so bad if the love story had been good. It's not. I mean really, every time you turn around Amanda is getting mad and throwing a hissy fit over the stupidest things! So what if he did not tell her, after only knowing her for less then a week, that he has a room he keeps locked up due to priceless artifacts!! Is that really a reason to throw a temper tantrum? I think NOT! I guess a 14-16 year old girl may like this book but not an adult. The characters are very immature.
I read this novel by Sammy Sutton more than a year ago, and although I usually don’t try books too heavily weighted with the romantic angle, but I found the author’s character’s interesting and believable even with the spiritual touch. I always enjoy a good puzzle and stories of ancient mysteries and King Solomon’s Journey does not disappoint. Good job, Ms. Sutton.
Sammy Sutton book King Solomon's Journey, was a real page turner. I simply couldn't put it down.
From the first page to the very last I was drawn into the lives, characters, and plot of the book. King Solomon's Journey is packed with action, passion, and intensely woven plot.
If you are interested in Archeology, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Adventure, or the Ancient mysteries you will love this book.
From first to last you are compelled to follow the characters on their journey of discovery.
I cannot wait for the sequel.

King Solomon's Journey (The Dominguez Adventures) thoroughly entertains on two levels. I enjoy fiction that teaches me something interesting in the process. As you might expect from the title, we learn quite a bit about King Solomon's life and his role in history in this novel. But author Sammy Sutton consistently weaves these bits of information within the context of the story without interrupting the flow or stopping the action. She added timely relevance by linking this side of the novel to the prediction of cataclysmic events on 12/21/12.
I am normally not a reader of romantic fiction. But I was very taken with the way the protagonist, Dr. Dominguez, related to Amanda Messenger. Their many differences made for very believable tension, yet the way they complemented each other's perspective in the main storyline led me to actively root for them as a couple. Their independence and unique voices made for a quality read.
